Have you heard about resilience and AQ (adversity quotient)? It is known that the greater the adversity quotient, the greater the resilience. But what is resilience? Resilience is the ability of bodies to return to their original state. In human behaviour, we see resilience as the speed that each individual returns to the original state, after suffering a stroke, experiencing a crisis, losing a loved one. People with good resilience quickly get up and have the ability to get out of suffering more quickly. If we think about emotional intelligence and success-related skills, resilience is the most important.

To be successful you have to learn to deal with the ups and downs and this usually comes with time, so older people tend to have more developed resilience. On the other hand, statistical data reveal that young people are showing below average resilience. What do we do as parents that contribute to low resilience? We are creating divas, young people who give up very quickly and who have consumer goods very quickly, who are spared from suffering exaggeratedly and when they fall they need a lot of help to get up.

And how to maintain success? To have and maintain success it is necessary to combine sustainability with resilience. Many executives are desperate because they have found that wanting is not power, power is wanting + resilience. Without resilience, nothing sustainable can be achieved. 75% of world leaders came from negative conditions, from total disharmony, from low self-esteem. Think about it: if your grassroots family is challenging you are more likely to be a world leader! Amazing! So don't be jealous of those who came from the perfect family.

But where does the ability to lead successfully come from? It comes from resilience and the ability to learn to deal with problems. Resilience affects IQ (intelligence quotient), which would be the sum of all knowledge. In a project you will not use your entire IQ, only a part. And then life demands more from you and the more life demands the more your ability to cope with demand increases, the more you increase your ability to solve problems. Sometimes the person with a high IQ crashes under pressure, not being able to access their AQ. There is a correlation between IQ and AQ, the more AQ you have, the more input IQ.

The world recognizes who delivers and the emotional capacity will make a difference. It is no use just having intellectual capacity and braking at the moment of pressure. And you, how are your resilience and your adversity quotient?
